APEX VOICE COMMUNICATIONS ANNOUNCES DYNAMIC VIDEO GENERATOR FOR OMNIVOX3D® SIP IVR APPLICATION SERVER

- Design, Develop & Deliver Revenue-Generating Video IVR Services -

WOODLAND HILLS, CA, November 12, 2008 - APEX Voice Communications (www.apexvoice.com), a global supplier of carrier-grade SIP IVR Application Servers for voice and video enhanced services, has announced the availability of a Dynamic Video Generator (DVG) for its OmniVox3D Service Delivery Platform (SDP). Designed to create on-the-fly video content for Interactive Voice & Video Response (IVVR) call dialogs, the OmniVox3D DVG dynamically builds "video announcements" to accompany audio announcements.

The OmniVox3D Dynamic Video Generator can be used to create screens of video data that is personalized for the caller, allowing it to be both complex and visually pleasing. OmniVox3D DVG produces video content from templates coded in HTML and deployed on a common web server in the same way that internet content is produced. These templates are used to create visual content with a combination of text, GIF, JPEG and PNG images, as well Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). Since the DVG loads these templates on a per call basis using the HTTP protocol, the templates themselves can be generated dynamically from the server using ASP, PHP or other common web programming languages.

"APEX's Service Delivery Platforms have a strong history of supporting Dialogic solutions. The recent addition of the Dynamic Video Generator to OmniVox3D enables real innovation by mobile video developers and adds an exciting new and unique dimension to video applications. We are excited about APEX's commitment to enhancing Dialogic solutions in this fast growing video market," said Harold Klett, Vice President of Product Management for Service Provider Products at Dialogic."

"With the Dynamic Video Generator module of OmniVox3D, network operators and service providers can now easily enhance the user experience by offering customized value-added video services to today's voice only services," said Elhum Vahdat, Executive Vice President of APEX Voice Communications. "With video-enabled handsets becoming a worldwide standard, users will be expecting more and more video-enabled services from their providers."

To simplify the addition of video to IVR applications, commands for controlling the DVG have been integrated into OmniView®, the award-winning browser-based Service Creation Environment of OmniVox3D. The DVG commands can be combined with OmniVox3D's IVR, ODBC and Web Services commands to create Value Added Services which extend beyond playing static video, including:

  • Contact Center: OmniVox3D can produce a multi-media customer service dialog which automatically prompts a caller for information and displays and speaks information to the caller before transferring the video call to a video- enabled customer service agent.

  • IVVR Banking: Telephony-based banking applications become much more robust and useful with IVVR and DVG. In response to touch-tone entries by the caller, OmniVox3D and DVG can display lists of transactions, images of paid checks, and summary screens with account balances, all while speaking out instructions to the caller on how to move through the different screens using the touch-tone keypad.

  • Interactive Video Menus: DVG is perfect for generating personalized menu screens offering options for a caller. The DVG can also be used stand-alone to generate static menu screens which can be saved into a 3GP file format and stored permanently for use by a media server. This is a quick and easy way to generate visually pleasing static video content that does not need to be generated per-call.
